Now comes the Period of Self-Doubt
I don't want to curse myself here, but I'm pretty sure I kicked that Swahili exam's ass. It really didn't involve the areas I was worried about, either. There weren't a lot of demonstratives, and translating and negating are EASY.
We might know a lot of components of Swahili, but, really, we don't know that much vocabulary. I'm not sure why I was so worried, but I do feel like I knew a lot even before I started studying. I guess going to class and doing homework will do that for you!
Also, I'm sort of disturbed, but I think I saw this student, we'll call him Student X, *cheating*. He grew up in Kenya, and is a smartass in class and always shows off his superior vocabulary, and really, he should be in Swahili 2 or 3. Anyway, I noticed that he had a sheet of torn-out notebook paper UNDER all the rest of his papers. What was it? It was about a PAGE of writing, more than we'd had time to do exactly pre-exam when she said we could write on the back of our blue books. It looked like our noun class demonstratives written out in chart form.
So, question is, WAS he cheating? What's really annoying is that, if he gets an A, everyone will just be like "Well of course X got an A. He's from Kenya." Erg. I guess I don't really care, so long as I do okay. Anything B+ or above will make me happy.

and yay that you think you did well on the test! i know one word in Swahili...Kisiri, which means...shoot. i forgot now. but my roommates kitten was originally named that. i think it means sweet or shy or something like that.
