It's definitely amusing too when you realize that everyone around you has an LJ username and that they're all secretly and not-so-secretly taking down your LJ name and you're being opened up to an entirely larger and more variable group of people.

That is REALLY true. I always tend to make those sort of "welcome/here is my biography" posts after big events (usually either cons or shadesong gatherings). :) I'm not sure if I will this time around, because with my journal all Friends-only now, I figure the people I choose to Friend can read back and figure it out.
