A Good Girl

I feel really nice. I actually went to class today, even though it was really cold and it's only a discussion group, which certainly nixes any incentive anyone would have of going, especially the morning after Halloween! In fact, our class attendance today was utterly pitiful, so I guess the lure of candy overkill got too many people and they stayed home. Smart, they are.

I also feel really nice because I am downstairs, actually working on some homework. I have 2 papers and a test this coming week and I'm starting on one of the papers now. It's for my sign language class, a class I liked a lot better before I got the midterm back, but we needed to write an 8 page paper on anything having to do with sign language and it's due Thursday. I was originally perplexed as to what to write about but I'd taken out this book for fun from the library- "Teaching Sign Language to Chimpanzees" and here I am wandering around wondering what to write about! D'oh! So I started and the words are flowing well since it's something I'm interested in. What's really nice is that Tate, my kitty has been sitting on my lap as I write and it's just nice to have paper company, besides the fact that he's all warm and keeping my feet toasty.

I also got this nice email from a girl who is on Petridish who I have never met. I had been planning to have a Halloween thing this weekend which got siderailed because another person was having a birthday party in New York this weekend which robbed me of some of my guests ;) Besides that most of my school friends have an equal amount of work and we're all sort of panicking. But she took this picture I had posted on petridish from Fred's birthday that was sort of dark and Photoshopped it and it looks so nice-- It was just a really great gesture and I'm looking forward to meeting her! All the while praising the immortal petridish, of course, for being not only a reunion place but a meeting place no matter where you go. Yay!

As to other news, as of this morning, I checked my hotornot score and it had gone down to a 5.7 which of course was an ego blow. I might post a different picture, I'm not sure whether I want to subject myself at all, considering the buttholes who gave me 1's and 2's!

Justin went to an interview thingie this morning- It's for this financial stockbroker-y job at a securities company in Falls Church. It's really not what he wants to do with his life, and I told him that he didn't need to compromise himself on my behalf, that it wasn't necessary! But he's really feeling the pressure to make money and produce and get out of the house, I'm sure... It was so nice to see him get dressed this morning, all spiffy with his fancy pants and tie and button down shirt and I was just overflowing with pride.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to writing my paper and feeling proud of myself. After this week is done it'll be a large load off my shoulders!
