The Day After the Day After
Apr. 21st, 2006 10:06 amI spent most of yesterday in a haze, and I haven't been swimming since Saturday -- usually Sunday/Monday are my days off, and after my hellish day in Kampala on Tuesday I bailed, and Wednesday... what was my excuse Wednesday?
Thursday was Stu and Ben grilling me about the events of Wednesday night.
Either way, I intend to swim tonight.
We're having a downpour ... it's the usual rainy season weather. Stu and Ben are going up to Budongo Forest today and won't be back for about two weeks -- I thought I'd be home alone in the house for the weekend.
The thought of that at the beginning of my stay here in Uganda would have been sort of terrifying, but honestly, the idea of it now is sort of nice. Despite my drunken debauchery of Wednesday night, despite whatever, I do feel far more like I have a community to go to when there's no one in the house.
Emma is coming home from up country because she has giardia.... We'll have to find out once she gets here how exactly she got it.
Thankfully, it's not contagious!
