So this morning, I'm guessing naughty kitty Sal was sitting on the warmth of my keyboard, and made the touchpad mouse go funny.

When I woke up, the mouse was working, but not showing up on the screen! It's happened before, and is solved by a quick and easy restart, but Mason and I had to coordinate plans for later.

He came online, was only going to be online for a super short period of time before he went off to work with Jim, so I had no time for a restart!

I am no slave to the mouse! I have navigated my entire morning... mouseless!

It's actually rather a tough endeavor. Everyone should try it!

haha, during college i think i was mouseless for a few months or a year or so or something.. i didn't have a PC, i had an amiga... where you can actually control the pointer with the cursor keys (!)...

it's surprising, though, that you can do just about anything in windows (or at least, enough to get a mouse working) without a mouse ;)

people keep badmouthing windows, but you have to give them credit for that..

Now that I have happy iBook fun (OS X 10.3.4), I've been working on learning more keyboard shortcuts. I'm THRIVE on them in WinXP and have since I first got my hands on Win3.1. The mouse is just annoying, and it hurts my wrists more than straight typing. Plus, keyboard shortcuts are easier. Would you rather scroll to the top of a document, click the cursor at the beginning, scroll all the way to the bottom, and finally hold shift and click at the end (or God forbid, click at the beginning and drag it until it scrolled all the way to the end) ... or just type CTRL+A? Yeah. Windows is easy for me. Mac, I'm still learning. Tab in the browser doesn't work like I'm used to. But F6 still gets me to the address bar. I'm still trying to figure out how to get to the little apple at the top left of the screen, tho...
