It's Something in the Air

I woke up this morning, entirely convinced that it was Thursday. I put my laundry in front of my door, and called Wishy Wash for a pick up on my way into work. Rick, the guy who coordinates pickup/delivery, was like "Laura in 609? What? It's not Thursday morning!" ... mocking me, since I usually schedule my pickup, like, 5 minutes before the cut-off time.
::daze:: Whoops.
I've been meaning to write about the weekend, and yet somehow always get sidetracked. I might as well pop a quick entry in about the last few days while I wait for the America's Next Top Model CD to burn for
jammie718. Ha! (I've outed you now, jamz)
This past weekend was really nice. Mason was supposed to come back on "Saturday Morning" from Philly with Rob, so you can imagine how tickled I was when he called me at 2 am on Friday Night, saying he was on the road on his way home. Yay!
Even though I had not gone to bed until 4 am, I somehow woke up at like, 11 am on Saturday morning. Curses, sunlight. My bedroom is honestly just like a solarium sometimes.
We were planning on going shopping on Saturday, yet somehow managed to get sidetracked. We ended up at the shack and had dinner with Al and Aaron at Tastee Diner. I was off the South Beach and had some greasy Turkey Reuben -- a choice I later regretted.
On Sunday, I did voiceover work for Aaron's new flash comic, "Vortex". I'm apparently going to be doing several voices, but I was doing a slutty divorcée. It was really fun, and I was amused to hear myself on playback.
On Sunday night, Mason was nice and dropped me off at
mryt_maat's Holiday Story-Reading. I hadn't been in nearly a year (because I suck, and am car-less) and I was SO glad to go. It was just entirely enjoyable.
Also, Lisa's tea is superb. Good things were read, including Grailblazers by Tom Holt. I'm even tempted to pick it up. I, after much cajoling, read some David Sedaris, specifically, "6 to 8 Black Men" in honor of the holiday season. The night was supposed to end at 9, so we stopped reading at a quarter of 9, and just chatted instead.
The chatting, however, ran until nearly 10 pm and was excellent! I've missed Lisa! We also vaguely thought about co-hosting a NYE party down here -- because I always get too much booze, and invite the same old people, and she always makes too much food. It sounded like a good combo :) I like new people.
The only hinderance, being of course my appearance at the Hack party. Mason wants me to go, and I'm a question-mark as to whether it will be my sort of bag. Plus, I feel like I might be an interloper? I don't even KNOW Scott & Tanya. Anyway... I'm sure something will figure itself out.
I need to take Jarry to the vet. He has weird itchies and scabs on his back. I don't know what they are, and he won't really let me look at them. I've called the vet -- just have to make time to go see her.
Oo, and Lost is on tonight.
The End.
