Old Cheese is Cheese Too
Mar. 6th, 2007 09:17 amThere's nothing like finishing your two exams yesterday on a high. I think I did decently on both -- and I actually managed to study during my break instead of doing god-knows-what, as I usually do.
Happy Birthday yesterday to My Aunt Margaret.
My French exam was pretty quick -- there were some verbs that I absolutely forgot how to conjugate, and some agreements I wasn't sure of, but really, the thing I always get an A in is second-guessing myself. Oh, and worrying!
The Swahili exam was LONG. It started at 6 and I didn't finish until 8:15pm. That is a LONG exam. I felt pretty good about my vocabulary retention though, thanks to the vocabulary flash cards that I made with
lauren_lief.
I recall the final from last semester, which was twelve degrees of disastrous, where I was unsure of just about every other word. I would definitely say that this exam was more humorous, though -- I'm writing an ESSAY in swahili about this man who gets drunk and gets hit by a car -- the last part of the exam -- and it's supposed to be 100-200 words long. The last picture is of a woman crying, and I can't remember how to say "to cry" so I write that her face is like raining. And that how will her children buy toys without a husband to bring them money?
Oh Swahili -- everyone loves a language that has a different verb for "to marry" depending on whether you're a man or a woman.
I feel SO good this morning, though. I'll probably go to the store and get some groceries, drop off my laundry, and run some errands before class and then a late lunch with
sinboy.
Also, because I can, I'm going to pimp some links that made me laugh all morning, courtesy of

The basic premise is, from what I can understand, a bunch of dorks doing a scavenger hunt. I haven't seen the whole list, but from the array posted on You Tube, it must be hilarious. Of course I picked this video (everyone knows how much I love cheese). They've also got a ne'er updated Podcast, which is also a hoot: here
Seeing dorks do ridiculous things on video? Hilarious. So, enjoy.
