Home Again, Home Again (Jiggety Jig?)

It feels somehow surreal to be looking at this crappy "animated" map on the projection screen of the plane, showing us hovering tremulously over Eastern Africa again.
I'll admit that I didn't even look out the window during my exceedingly long flight. I slept a lot, read a lot, but am reminded now of the sense of wonderment and adventure that I experienced when I first touched down here in Entebbe, Uganda. I wonder how many people on the plane have never seen Entebbe, or heard the hornbills calling in the morning.
For me, I just feel a sense of return. I can picture the airport in my head, and it'll be all business, just jumping in a cab and getting home (I didn't have the foresight to plan an airport pickup from Debby...)
Thoughts of the United States are sort of... leaking... out of my head. Don't worry -- I'll certainly regale LJ with my tales of barely sleeping for 6 days, Amy's incredible wedding, and the incredible sense of kinship love and friendship I experience in Maryland.
But for now, I'm just thinking about doing some laundry tomorrow, finishing up some things for IPS, and well, work. Entebbe hasn't stopped feeling like home despite being somewhat sure that I'll be leaving it at the end of July. And, well, that's a good feeling.
Can't be too verbose, or I'll be unable to use the toilet before we start the descent!
