Warmth of the Sun

I guess these past two days have been what I needed, relaxation-wise... Yesterday in Kampala, the movies, out.
Today, it was actually beautiful and sunny out so Willi and I headed over to the Lake Victoria hotel swimming pool for a day of sun.
He was incredibly amused because this morning, while we were looking at photos from last night, Debby knocked on my door and came in saying "Just got a call from Liz. You're going to Congo Friday, okay?"
As he said, "Wow, your boss is really cool. She knocks, comes in, and sends you off to Congo!"
Anyway, yea. Pool. SO nice and uncharacteristically empty. Willi decided straightaway to jump off of the highest platform -- the 10 meter one. I'm sort of convinced that he was still drunk from the night before ;)
I think I'll add the video up to savefile once I've put the subtitles on :P
I was quite nervous the first time he did it, only because having no depth perception certainly thwarts any highdiving plans I may have had. I get vertigo even on the lowest platform, and was somehow convinced that Willi might die. It was still fine, and although we both brought books, we ended up talking all day and soaking in rays and eating tasty, if overpriced, lunch.
I also showed him the famous big turtle/tortoises that they've got at the Lake Vic. Funny pictures ensued. I was serious about my pledge to never have a month-long album with 11 photos in it again!
I managed not to get burned on my face, but I did actually get color on my legs and arms. Willi did actually jump off the platform again though the second time he hesitated a lot more.
It got cold around 3 o'clockish so we headed back to the house and googled the TOEFL, which he's taking on Thursday via the internet here in Uganda. I'm still not entirely sure how they'll administer a lot of test, especially speaking and listening (like a Ugandan is really going to gauge how good his English is??) but I think he'll do fine.
I'm not looking forward to packing and getting my work and affairs in order by Friday -- I hate packing, unpacking and general malarky involved in shifting homes. I do look forward to seeing my kiddies again --
That's always an upside :)
I feel so relaxed and happy after today. I have SO much to do this coming Monday -- in addition to sleeping at Janice's!
Time is flying, really. Just. Flying.
