A New Frontier

I woke up ecstatic this morning. Last night was *so*much fun. R, C & L came over around 7:30. I had talked to L earlier on the phone and set myself up to do a massive tornado of cleaning which took longer than I'd expected!

Of course it didn't help that Jarry had had a private party in the trash can the night before so not only did I have to contend with generalized mess, but actual icky trash on the floor. I also decided to move most of the books out of the dining room, feeling sick of their presence. Which ended up taking so long because they were so heavy!

I also couldn't resist procrastinating further by playing ball with Jarry in the yard for an hour because he and I were both having so much fun that it was hard to stop. It was also a really nice fall afternoon, briskly cool but not cold and sunny with a nice breeze! Yay Suburbia!

I also became enthralled by the lure of petridish and the internet so that I wasted a good half hour on the computer. Mikhail messaged me in the Petridish chatterbox saying he wanted to come and I sent him directions but he never showed! I would assume if he fell into a hole somewhere I would have heard about it by now ;)

Anyway, so they called around 6:15 when I was mostly done, except that I still had to tidy the computer room and the bathroom and wash the dishes. But everything *else* was done.. hahahaha. Oh, and I had to take the trash bags from the porch into the trash can. Nothing left, right? I love my definition of "mostly done".... SO.

I also hadn't showered. I did the most amazing 45 minute tizzy cleaning accompanied by a 15 minute shower so that by 7 pm when they thought they were going to get here I was actually ready! It was so exciting! Jarry was so confused I'm sure because I was flitting around the house in my cleaning frenzy.

So they got here and it was YAY! Jarry barked a little which was good but acted all nervous all night which was bad :\ I suppose the more I expose him to new people the better he'll be around them but still, ugh. So we decided on food and C & L went to KFC and we watched Legally Blonde while stuffing our faces with greasy fried goodness. Tate was quite the crowd pleaser, and it made me happy to see everyone happy and the whole evening just made me warm and fuzzy. We had lots of laughs and I just felt so at ease and happy. Yay friends! Yay Washington!
How quickly things change, huh?

They left at what I think was about 11:30 and at 11:45 my puss came home! Yay! I wasn't actually expecting him til later since PTQ's tend to have all night drafting sessions accompanying them. But he came home and he had missed me! So I had a snugglebunny and I slept in the bed (usually when he's not home I sleep on the couch because the bed feels too big and empty).

When I woke up this morning, the house was still clean and it felt so good! I should try to keep it this clean more often. Maybe bind Justin's hands ;) No, I'm being mean. I'm not so clean either!

We were planning on going to the zoo today but we're going to loll around the house instead...and go to the zoo on Wednesday. Maybe I will finish my sign language paper. Get it over with now instead of waiting til Thursday!
I'm really so happy. My perfect happy cake now has icing!
