Another Chimp :(

Monday 1:50 pm
Some guys from ICCN just came into the office, having found a pet-trafficker out on the border of Goma with a "baby" chimp.
We have no idea what kind of condition it's in, or how old it is, or any particular details. But here Delphine and I am, rushing to prepare for its arrival. It'll have to be quarantined at the office, and we've not got enough caregivers to take care of it, or enough money to hire another guy...
There's, of course, an element of the exciting, but at the same time, it's horribly sad. This chimp represents at least 8-12 adults who were murdered for its capture.
Who knows what conditions it's been kept in either since its capture. I wanted to go with the ICCN guys, but they're essentially doing a "sting" and to have be be on the ride-along would just SCREAM "setup".
Anyway, we should have the chimp here in a few hours...
There's a lot to do and, unsurprisingly, I'm already exhausted.
