Well, I'm about 90% packed, thanks to the help of xoder, alexsirkman and cayenne.

Of course I'm wasting time this morning, and additionally I'm annoyed because my plans to trick out Fred's old iBook to take with me are failing miserably.

cayenne had tried to help me replace the touchpad, but that failed. Additionally, I can't get my new system to fit onto its puny harddrive. I thought about bringing my external HD and just booting off it, but damn if that isn't slow and crappy.

So, I'm bringing the powerbook with me. Big, 17" of Love.

Ugh.

If you'd let me know earlier, I have a bunch of powerbook touchpads from a failed attempt to make money fixing these things. Well, good luck with the trip!

Powerbook, but they're in Jersey, so if you're leaving today there's definitely no chance until you return. Also I think they might be specific to the model, but I'm certainly willing to give it a try.
